The Marshall Trophy is an end of season inter-league social match with the Letchworth and District Badminton League involving as many of the leagues’ teams as possible.

Marshall Trophy 2010 - 13th June 2010 at Hitchin Boys School.
Won by the Stevenage League 3 divisions to 1.
A good afternoon of badminton enjoyed by all participating.

The Winners of The SBL Cup play the holders of The Taylor Trophy in a separate challenge match (usually beginning of June).
If the SBL Cup winners win that match they then are holders of both The SBL Cup and The Taylor Trophy. If they lose, they then remain the holders of The SBL Cup for the following twelve months and the winners retain The Taylor Trophy. Whoever are the holders of The Taylor Trophy are exempt from The SBL Cup for the forthcoming season.

A very enjoyable afternoon with a record number of entries despite a few last minute withdrawals due to ill health.
The standard of play was very high as was the general sportsmanship. The Denise Peat prize for overall effort and sportsmanship went to Carmen Au.

It was a very successful mens singles tournament with participants from all 4 divisions. We were pleased to see so many enthusiastic youngsters with a very high standard of play throughout. Hopefully this will become a regular event in our calendar.

The SBL's second Junior Tournament was a great success. The standard of play was very high and all matches played in a very good spirit.
Thank you to all the coaches, parents and helpers on the day.
There were twenty-one boys split into three groups, ages ranging from 10 to 18, and a girls group of five (unfortunately, we had some late drop-outs due to illness).

JUNIOR TOURNAMENT 2006

Held at Shephall Leisure Centre 7th October 2006

The SBL's first Junior Tournament was a great success. The standard of play was exceptional but more importantly, the manner in which it was played was a credit to all the players and their coaches.
There were two boys groups: six in group A, eight in group B and a girls group of six.

THE DENISE PEAT PRIZE
was won by Steven Barnes (age 12) for his overall ability, good nature, support of his partners and tireless enthusiasm to keep running all afternoon.
